27 Sept 1927: Princeton Inn opens as a hotel serving the general public.
June 1970: Inn closes and acquired by the University.
1970: University begins converting hotel into a "college" type residence, dining and social facility to accommodate 375 undergraduate men and women.
Fall 1971: Addition to the south side of the Inn located between the Inn and the employee's building. Architect for the addition is J. Robert Hillier '59 of Princeton.
Feb 1984: Malcolm Forbes '41 and the Forbes Foundation gives $3 million for the renovation of The Princeton Inn College which is renamed Forbes College in honor of his oldest son, Malcolm S. Forbes, Jr. (Steve Forbes) '70. Renovation and restoration of the common rooms, dining and social spaces, computer area and library carried out by Robert Venturi '47, *50.
18 Nov 1984: Dedication of Forbes College.
