29 March 1929: This memorial was Cram's last design for Princeton.
14 June 1930: Dedicated on this date to son who died of pneumonia in 1919 following his discharge from the Princeton Naval Unit. At the ceremony Simon Rothschild wished to honor Ralph Adams Cram and Alexander Hoyle for their "painstaking endeavor to place here a memorial that is truly expressive of what we and they deisred to commemorate."
