1903: Seventy Nine Hall given to the University as the 25th reunion gift from the Class of 1879.
1911: The Class of 1879, as their graduation gift to the university, gave lions which flanked the entrance steps to Nassau Hall until 1911. In that year, the class presented bronze tigers for the entrance to Nassau Hall and the lions were moved to the Seventy Nine Hall steps.
1964: Seventy Nine no longer used as a dormitory. Now houses the departments of Philosophy and Religion.
1971: Lions permanently removed for preservation purposes.
